Fessura, the Italian brand from the Marche region known for its cutting-edge technology, has launched an ambitious project: the Fessura Trail Team. A team of elite athletes, ready to carry the brand’s name and the charm of the Monti Sibillini to the most prestigious racecourses in the world.
Sunday marked a date to remember: for the first time, the athletes of the Fessura Trail Team gathered for a collective training session, laying the foundation for an extraordinary journey. It was an opportunity to test the new trail running shoe line—directly inspired by the very lands that hosted this first official outing—and to strengthen the team spirit that will accompany the athletes in their future challenges.
A Team of Excellence
The Fessura Trail Team was created with a clear goal: to unite some of Italy’s best trail runners under one banner while also showcasing the beauty of the Marche region. The roster consists of top-level athletes, each with a history of success and an incredible passion for the mountains.

Giacomo Forconi: A trail runner specializing in Sky Race and distances up to 50 km. Winner of the 2023 Skyrunning Italian Cup, he has achieved two top-five finishes at the LUT Cortina and holds the Frasassi Sky Race record.

Riccardo Pianesi: A long-distance expert who has competed in iconic races such as the 100 km of Turin, the 100 km del Passatore, and UTLO. He favors technical yet runnable terrains, approaching every race with a controlled and steady pace.

Marco Brutti: A computer engineer and lover of the Marche mountains, he has participated in prestigious races like the Monte Rosa Sky Marathon (35 km) and the Marathon du Mont Blanc (90 km), winning numerous regional ultra-trails.

Roberto Tirabasso: A deep connoisseur of the Monti Sibillini, he claimed first place at the Sibilla Trail and podium finishes in races such as the Ascoli Extreme Trail and Tallacano Trail.

Mirko Fioretti: Specializing in ultra-trails, he has competed in events such as the Dolomiti Extreme Trail and the Gran Trail Courmayeur. Among his most notable results: 21st place overall out of 1,600 competitors at the LUT Cortina and 3rd among Italians at UTMB Mont Blanc 2021.

Francesca Farneti: A well-established trail runner in mid-distance races, she is a four-time regional Sky Running champion and placed second in the 2022 Italian Championship. In addition to sports, she studies sports science and is preparing to join mountain rescue operations.

Annalisa Fitti: An ultra and endurance specialist, she holds the second-fastest Italian time ever at the Spartathlon (246 km in 31 hours) and was crowned Italian champion in the 24-hour race in Venice in 2023.

Ecaterina Sevcenco: The UISP national mountain running champion, she has triumphed in the Amalfi Positano Ultra Trail and the Ultra Sky Marathon Abruzzo.

Andrea Tamiazzo: A marathon and ultramarathon runner with eight marathons under his belt, passionate about challenges that take him from urban chaos to the most rugged peaks.
Leading this elite squad is coach Luca Gargiulo, an aerospace engineer and project manager, as well as an accomplished athlete with victories at the Ultra Sky Marathon d’Abruzzo and the Sorrento-Positano Ultramarathon. His experience will be key in preparing the athletes for the toughest and most prestigious competitions.
The First Training Session
Sunday’s training session marked the beginning of an ambitious project. On the trails of the Monti Sibillini, the athletes tested Fessura’s new trail collection, sharing experiences and strategies to tackle world-class races such as UTMB Chianti, LUT Cortina, and UTMB Mont Blanc.

The creation of the Fessura Trail Team represents a crucial step in the brand’s growth, not only in the Fashion-Sport segment but also in the world of high-level competitions. The goal? To bring Fessura’s excellence in design and technology to the world’s most important races, strengthening its connection to the territory and promoting trail running in the Marche region.
